Zella M. Verdeyen's Obituary
Zella M. Verdeyen, 93, of Dieterich, passed away at 4:55 a.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2011 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Bishop Creek with burial in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Dieterich. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 5:30 p.m. parish wake service. Donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. www.bauerfh.com
Zella was born March 3, 1918 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Milton and Merna (Plummer) McKinney. She married Albert H. Verdeyen on May 7, 1938 in Effingham and he preceded her in death in 1995. Zella was a member of St. Isidore Parish, Bishop Creek and had worked over 25 years at the Illinois Glove Factory.
She is survived by two sons, Roger (Caroline) of Effingham, James (Irene) of Watson; daughter, Nancy Verdeyen of LaPorte, Indiana; son-in-law, Leonard Kremer of Dieterich; two brothers, Milton (Doris) of Montrose, Wayne (Doris) of Mattoon; 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren.
Zella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert and daughter, Doris.
