Yvonne Georgia Daume, 84, of Effingham, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the memories of a life well lived.

A visitation and celebration of Yvonne’s life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Effngham on Sunday, May 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Yvonne was born on December 9, 1941, in St. Louis, to Lincoln Wagner and Dorothy (Bledsoe) Wagner. On December 19, 1964, she married the love of her life, Stoy Daume. Together they shared more than 50 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and family while making homes in California, Illinois, and Florida.

Yvonne embraced life with curiosity and courage. She loved horses, the outdoors, traveling, and the freedom of the open road. She was always ready for the next adventure and found joy in both the beauty of nature and the simple moments spent with those she loved most.

Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. As a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, Yvonne treasured the friendships, fellowship, and spiritual connection she found through the church and the camps and conferences it supported over the years.

Yvonne dedicated her professional life to helping others learn and grow. She worked as a public school art teacher and administrative assistant before retiring as the Director of Education at Graham Correctional Center. She believed deeply in the power of education, compassion, and second chances.

Those who knew Yvonne will remember her for her fierce determination, unwavering loyalty, and generous heart. She faced life’s challenges with strength and grace and was someone her family and friends could always depend on. More than anything, she loved her family and took great pride in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is lovingly survived by her sons, Paul Daume of Effingham and Michael Daume and his wife, Ciara, of Effingham; her grandchildren, Kelsey Morrison and her husband, Zach, of Wentzville, and Lynlie and Lincoln Daume of Effingham; her great grandchildren, Liam, Eli, and Killian Morrison of Wentzville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Stoy; and her son, Matthew Daume.

Yvonne’s family will forever cherish the love, strength, and adventurous spirit she brought into their lives. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
