William L. "Corky" Wernsing, 59 of Effingham, passed away Tuesday morning, April 14, 2020 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

Private family services will be held with interment  in St. Francis Cemetery in Teutopolis. Memorial donations may be given to the Sister Ethelbert Center at St. Francis Church. Donations will be accepted by mail at St. Francis Church, 203 East Main, Teutopolis, Illinois 62467 or to Bauer Funeral Home, c/o Wernsing Memorial, 1212 West Evergreen Avenue, Effingham, Illinois 62401.

Bill was born April 13, 1961 in Effingham, the son of Leonard and Jeanette (Swingler) Wernsing. He worked for many years at Three Z Printing in Teutopolis and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus.

Bill is survived by his sisters, Susan (Jerry) Brummer and Christie (Doug) Stephens, both of Teutopolis; nephews and nieces, Ross (Jamie) Stephens, Monica Brummer, Christopher (Jenny) Brummer, Kimberly (James) Vigue; great-nieces, Amelia Brummer, Corin Brummer, Lena Vigue and Aerin Vigue.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Philip.
