William H. "Buck" Chaney, 81 of St. Elmo, passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Buck retired from Fedders and was a volunteer fireman in St. Elmo for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Carol J. (Wiley) Chaney; daughters, Cindy (Allen) Breitbach of Muskego, WI, Carla (Pete) Goeckner of Teutopolis and Sherry (Larry) Everett of Altamont; sons, William Chaney of Myer Creek, OR, Roger Chaney of Rock Island, Charles (Tracy) Duckworth of St. Elmo, Damon (Theresa) Duckworth and Todd Chaney of St. Elmo; sister, Katherine Holcomb of Morris and long time friend, Gary Spiker of Effingham; 26 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Josephine Chaney; son, Robert Chaney and daughter, Lynn Chaney.
