Virginia R. Trefzer, 85, of Effingham, died at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. www.bauerfh.com
Virginia was born on November 7, 1926 in Dexter, the daughter of Perry and Bessie (Goen) Myers. She married Herbert J. Trefzer on January 27, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 2001. Virginia worked as an assembly inspector for Fedders Corp. for many years. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham and the Effingham Ladies V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Mark) Jerger of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren, Mike (Debbie) Lewis, Todd Lewis of Seattle, WA, Sheena Weber of Effingham and Shaelyn Weber of Murray, Utah; two brothers, Roy and Ted Myers, both of Altamont; two sisters, Sarah Gray of Rapatee and Lila (Kenneth) McCain of Altamont; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Sharon Brown; three brothers, Charlie, Perry Jr., George Myers; two sisters, Beulah Duckwitz and Wanda Youngblood.
