Viola E. Bannick, 86, passed away Monday morning, August 24, 2015 at her home in rural Dieterich.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dieterich with burial in Dieterich Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the church. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.bauerfh.com.
Viola was born October 13, 1928 in Effingham County, the daughter of Ed and Clara (Hatke) Willenborg. She married Gaylord J. Bannick, Sr. on November 26, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1999. Viola was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Dieterich and retired from Illinois Glove Company after over 25 years of service.
Viola is survived by her son, Terry Sr. (April) of Dieterich; daughter, Phyllis (Jack) Hille of Dieterich; three brothers, Donald (Mary) Willenborg, Paul (Margaret) Willenborg and Gene Willenborg, all of Neoga; seven grandchildren, John Bannick, Shawn Bannick, Shane Bannick, Terry Bannick Jr., Jessica Bannick, Shannon Heuerman and Jody Hartke; sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gaylord Bannick, Jr.; brothers, Floyd, Ed and Robert; sisters, Gladys, Florence, Leona, Theresa.
