Obituary

Trenton Austin Niemeyer, 38 of Teutopolis, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with a eulogy to be read at 6:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made online at https://everloved.com/life-of/trenton-niemeyer/

Trenton was born November 4, 1984 in Mattoon, the son of Nicholas E. and Janice Marie (Cross) Niemeyer.  He was a Journeyman carpenter, a fantastic musician, and a brilliant metalsmith. He touched a lot of lives in his own way and lent a helping hand whenever he could.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Trenton is survived by his son, Ian Niemeyer of Newton; mother, Janice Niemeyer of the Toledo wilderness; father, Nick Niemeyer of Teutopolis; sisters, Elizabeth Niemeyer and her daughters, Violet and Magnolia of Asheville, NC, Stephanie Niemeyer (Jacob Schumacher) of Bloomington, IN, and Valerie (Colin) Craig of Raleigh, NC; grandmothers, Doris Niemeyer of Raleigh, NC and Helen Rose Smith of Mattoon; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, M.L. "Pat" Niemeyer and George A. Cross; uncles, Rick Cross and Mike Niemeyer.
