Obituary

Timothy J. "Tim" Parker, 56 of Effingham, passed away at 9:07 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with Reverend Drew Holloway officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to time of service Friday evening at the funeral home with a Masonic service to be held at 6:00 p.m. Military rites will be accorded prior to visitation. Tim was born June 13, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, the son of David M. and Sally Parker. After serving for 20 years in the United States Air Force, he became a Nuclear Medical Technician at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital and Shelbyville Memorial Hospital. Tim was a member of NRA, ATA, and the First Presbyterian Church in Effingham, a lifetime member of the Charleston Sportsman's Club, the Watson Masonic Lodge and the Xenia, Ohio Masonic Lodge.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Brandi (Jason) Matteson of Effingham; two brothers, John (Donna) of Altamont and Tom (Nancy) of Newbern, Tennessee; sister, Vicky (Gary) Eley of Eldorado, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Adam (Brittnie) Amerman, Amber (Sam) Miller, Ashley (Andrew) Vincent, Laurie (Daren) Drees, Eric (Emily) Parker, Tyler Smith, Brianne Smith, Autumn Parker and Amy Hines; cousins, Kevin Parker, Kim Koester, Wendy Pals and Jenny Seachrist; numerous great-nieces and nephews also survive.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
