Thomas R. Vogel, 60, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at his home in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary and Fourth Degree chalice service.

Tom was born October 8, 1958 in Streator, IL, the son of Raymond and Renelva (Riss) Vogel. He moved to Effingham when he was 14 and graduated from Effingham High School. Tom married Cynthia Dust in 1980 and they divorced in 2005. He was an outside salesman for Dust & Son Auto Supply for 20 years and went on to pursue person business ventures. Tom was a Past Grand Knight and Fourth Degree member of the Effingham Knights of Columbus Council #665.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Stephen) Arbogast of Washington and Lynn (Brian) Buenker of Teutopolis; sons, Ryan and Jason, both of Effingham; sisters, Cheryl (Robert) Durdan of Grand Ridge and Paula (Donald) Niebrugge of Effingham; grandchildren, Samantha Arbogast, Hannah Arbogast, Vincent Vogel, Owen Vogel, Henry Buenker and Vivian Buenker.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tony.
