Thomas B. Mcniff's Obituary
Thomas B. McNiff, 68 of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away at 7:28 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Local arrangements are being handled by Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice and may either be dropped off or mailed to the funeral home, where they will be forwarded on to the McNiff family.
Thomas was born October 15, 1945 in Poughkeepsie, New York, the son of John and Kathleen (McGrath) McNiff. He had served with the United States Marine Corp. and was an over-the-road trucker driver and independant contractor for Belkin Van Lines. Thomas was honored in 2005 by National Trucking Association for "Outstanding Driver of the Year", having driven over 3,000,000 miles without a chargeable accident.
Thomas is survived by his brother, Edwin of Poughkeepsie, New York; two sisters, Eileen Vleming of Poughkeepsie, New York and Anne Tatlock of New York City; along with nieces and nephews
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John.
