Tom F. Dust, "T.D.", 64, of Merced, CA, formerly of Effingham, passed away at his home on Sunday July 7, 2013.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Private family graveside will take place at St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of the deceased to the charity of the donor's choice.

Tom was born at home in Effingham on April 23, 1949, the son of Edward and Celeste "Vahling" Dust, just days after a major fire occurred at St. Anthony Hospital. He was a graduate of St. Anthony Schools and Quincy University, and went on to work in the printing industry as a Customer Service Manager for over thirty years. He was an active member of St. Anthony Parish, the Effingham Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed golfing, riding his bicycle, and above all spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Wendy "Burt" of Merced, CA; daughter Brittany of Los Angeles, CA; son Tommy of Charleston; brothers Paul (Mary) and Mark (Susan) both of Effingham; sisters Nancy (Mark) Sargent of Naperville, Marilee (Dennis) Funneman of Teutopolis, and Jayne (Scott) Stockman of Peoria as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Liz "Jordan" Dust.
