Thurlo Robert " Bob" Daugherty passed on to heaven, peacefully at home, with his family by his side on August 3, 2023. He was born at home in Columbia City, Indiana on September 18, 1933 to Victor and Lois Daugherty.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, August 13th at Evangel United Methodist Church in Beecher City, with a meal to follow. A time of visiting will be held from 2:00 pm to the time of service, Sunday at the church. Memorial donations may be given to HSHS Hospice.

Bob met the love of his life, Millie, at the Eastern IL Teachers College. They moved to Beecher City in the early 60s where they both taught and Bob also coached. They both retired from Beecher City Schools in 1989. Bob was a faithful member of Evangel United Methodist Church. He loved to camp and travel, fish, eat, and watch TV especially sports and game shows. Bob also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was always positive, upbeat, and gave good advice. Bob had nicknames for a lot of people; if you had one, you know. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him, but we rejoice that he is in heaven now with his wife and all who have gone before him after a wonderful, long earthly life.

Survivors include his son, Craig (Cathy) Daugherty; daughter, Julie (Mike) McAdams; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Anne Daugherty; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Loretta Duncan; many nieces and nephews, his church family, and a multitude of friends and former students.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Ben; twin sister, Thorma; father and mother-in-law, Everett and Evie Duncan; his brothers-in-law, Robert James, and Charlie Duncan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Duncan.
