Sylvia L. Bahling

Sylvia Louise Bahling, 83 of Effingham, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

Sylvia was born November 2, 1942 in Watertown, Wisconsin, the daughter of Theodore and Martha (Burhans) Olsen. She married to Kenneth Bahling and he preceded her in death.

Sylvia is survived by her children, Scott Bahling, Cassandra Korando, Jennifer (Dave) Tomaloff, and Christopher Bahling; grandchildren, Brittany Piel, Amanda (husband, Victor) Gomez-Zambrano, Terrance (wife, Jennifer) Swain, Stefani (husband, Eric Gavin) Aiello, Griffin (wife, Macalah) Lexuriga-Serroth, December Bahling, and Adin Bahling; great-grandchildren, Steven and Talya Piel, Mason Heeter, Ophelia Reyna, and Violet Swain; sister, Linda Farrell and sister-in-law, Lois Olsen.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Arthur Olsen and son-in-law, Stacy Korando.

Per Sylvia’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no services are being held at this time. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.
