Stacy Dean Korando

Stacy Dean Korando, 51, of Effingham, passed away at 11:29 p.m. May 14, 2026 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with a private burial at a later date at the Village of Steeleville Paradise Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made in Stacy’s name to the OSF Family House, 1339 East Nebraska Avenue, Peoria, Illinois 61603.

Stacy was born July 31, 1974 to Tom and Janet (Ingersol) Korando in Chester. He married Cassandra Bahling on June 6, 2019 in Effingham, she survives.

Also surviving are both of his parents; his step-father, Robert Korando; one brother, Thomas (Holly) Korando; three step-sisters, Autumn Kelly, Misty (Dino) Giardina, and Laura Williams; four children, Ashley Wegener, Rai Korando, Alexis Korando, and Destiny Korando; three step-children, Amanda (Victor) Zambrano Gomez, Terry (Jennifer) Swain, and Stephanie (Eric Gavin) Aiello; three grandchildren, Mason Heeter, Ophelia Reyna, and Violet Swain; three nieces, Cami, Mylissa, and Ravyn; and one nephew, Bryan.

Preceding him in death is his stepmother; Debbie Korando.

Stacy worked for many years as a diesel mechanic and later worked as a shift manager at Arby’s in Effingham.

Stacy will be remembered by his friends and family as a kind and caring man who would go out of his way to help others in any way that he could.
