Silas Earl Sasse, 4 year old son of Nicholas and Sarah (Brackney) Sasse, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at his home in Dieterich.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church, Shumway, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until service time, Saturday at the church. Memorial donations may be given to the Ronald McDonald House Charity.

Silas was born February 10, 2021. He is survived by his parents, sister, Lilly Grace, and brother, Malachi River; grandparents, William "Bill" and Lisa Brackney, Carol (James) Sasse-Merkel, and Jeff & Kathy Sasse; great-grandmother, Bernice Sasse; aunts and uncles, Tom & Robyn, Bernie & Jill, Ben & Kayla, Ranae and Randy & Elizabeth; as well as many loving cousins.

Silas was preceded in death by his brother, Rowan Alexander Sasse.

"We love him fiercely and will be missing him everyday. When Silas was born we didn't know how long he would grace us with his presence here on Earth. That answer was 4 years, 8 months, and 26 days. Much longer than we were told to expect but much shorter than what we hoped. In his life Silas fought many battles and had hard days. He also had many great days and accomplished so many things, even if they were brief spurts of being able to do a specific thing. As much as we will miss him here with us on Earth, we know his big brother Rowan was waiting at Heaven's gate for Silas. Even though we are hurting we know that Si no longer is. He isn't sick, and will never have feel pain again. We also know that all Si ever felt was fierce love from all his family. We will miss Silas with every fiber of our being."
