Obituary

Shad Wayne Parker, 37, of Charleston, formerly of Effingham, died Monday, August 19, 2013.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with private burial at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until service time, Friday evening at the funeral home. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust fund for his daughter, Kaitlyn Parker, at Crossroads Bank in Effingham. Any written memories of Shad would be cherished and appreciated.

Shad was born May 4th, 1976, in Charleston, the son of Robin (Endebrock) Kralman and Robert (Doc) Kralman of Effingham, and the late Barry Parker and Becky Parker, of Charleston.

Shad was a wonderful father to his daughter, Kaitlyn. They had many, many sweet times, their identical blue eyes twinkling, as they laughed together. He was an accomplished guitarist who spent many hours mastering complex pieces which moved his listeners. Some of his greatest joys were spending time with family and playing guitar with his uncles. He also had a love of reading, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, the Ramones, Bob Dylan and classical music. He was a skilled professional as the Supervisor of Edgar County Probation, who had a strong conviction in 'second chances' and restoration for those transitioning back into a new life. Shad was soft spoken, hard-working, intelligent, and witty, and he will be missed by so many.

Shad is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn Parker (Mattoon); his mother, Robin (Endebrock) Kralman and stepfather, Robert (Doc) Kralman (Effingham); stepmother, Becky Parker (Charleston); grandmother, Aina Endebrock (Effingham); brother Shane Parker and wife, Tracy (Kansas); sister, Kaci (Parker) Miles and husband, Jeff (Oklahoma); sister, Kelli Kralman (Champaign); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Barry Parker (Charleston); grandparents, Wayne and Mary Parker (Charleston); and grandfather, Wayne (Chic) Endebrock (Effingham).
