Samie F. Cox, 69, passed away Tuesday morning, April 15, 2014 at her home in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Red Brush Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to time of service, Saturday morning at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Samie was born May 11, 1944 in Rochester, Minnesota, the daughter of Samuel and Frances V. (Jones) Zieman. She was a waitress, cashier and prep cook at 76 Truck Stop for 25 years. Samie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Effingham.

Samie is survived by her two daughters, Scarlet (Wendell) Haws of Mason; Dana Cox of Effingham; sister, Sameleen (Charles) Kohlbrecher of Highland; four grandchildren, Anthony Verdeyen, Troy Verdeyen, Brian Haws and Dakota Weck.

Samie was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Samuel and great-granddaughter, Larissa.
