Samantha Purcell, 2, of Dieterich, died at 2:15 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2011 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Samantha was born January 5, 2009. She is survived by her parents, Andrew Purcell of Dieterich and Jeannie Sowers of Altamont; sisters, Chasity Purcell and Baileigh Starnes; grandparents, Tim and Pam Sowers of Louisville and James and Rita Purcell of Dieterich; great grandparents, Frank and Bernice Scoles of St. Elmo and JoAnn Purcell of Belleville; aunts, Heather (Derrick) Walls of Effingham, Felicia (Matt) Irmen of Flora, Joan Purcell (Jeff Larson) of Dieterich; uncle, James Purcell (Kelly) of Effingham and many cousins.
