Ruth Ann Westjohn, 80, of Montrose died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose Catholic Church, Montrose, with burial in St. Rose Cemetery, Montrose. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 27, at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a 7 p.m. parish rosary at the funeral home. Mrs. Westjohn was born Sept. 17, 1931, in Mattoon, the daughter of Henry C. and Jessie (Lanus) Stuckey. She married Louis A. Westjohn on Nov. 22, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She served as township clerk for St. Francis Township for more than 40 years and as church secretary at St. Rose Church since 1995. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose Council of Catholic Women and VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include her sons, Leo (wife, Jane) of Dieterich, Ted (wife, Donna) of Montrose, Greg (wife, Cyndi) of Montrose and Steven (wife, Judy) of Teutopolis; daughters, Judy (Terry) Childress of Effingham and Patsy (Jim) Griffith of Robinson; sisters, Clara Winchester of Okeechobee, Fla., Helen (Mrs. Matt) Mayhaus of Effingham, Madonna Stuckey of Mattoon and Betty Sehi of Lake Isabella, Calif.; son-in-law, Leon Croft of Gays; 16 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandsons, five brothers and three sisters.
