Rosemary C. Thoele, 81, passed away at 8:21 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at her home in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with entombment in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to time of service, Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Effingham Public Library. Rosemary was born January 25, 1934 in Effingham County, the daughter of Ferdinand and Anna (Wesselman) Kaufman. She married Russell A. Thoele on February 21, 1958 and he preceded her in death in 2007. Rosemary was a nurse's assistant at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham for 22 years.

She is survived by her three sons, Emmett (Michelle "Shelly") of Altamont, Jerry (Diane) of Effingham and Glen (friend, Alaina) of Effingham; two daughters, Alberta Simpson of Barnhill and Rebecca (James) Flack of Shumway; two brothers, Harold (Marian) Kaufman of Beecher City, FL and Richard Kaufman of Stewardson; three sisters, Hilda (John) Livingston of Toledo, Phyllis (Eugene) Kremer of Shumway and Margaret (Jack) McCosky of Humboldt; brother-in-law, Leon Reis of Bruton, AL and sister-in-law, Bernice Kaufman of Mattoon; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Alfred; sister, Barbara Reis and son-in-law, Robert Simpson.
