Robert D. "Bob" Kurtin, 82 of Louisville, Ohio, formerly of Effingham, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio.

A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham. Entombment will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Bob was born August 1, 1932 in Chicago, the son of Frank and Anna (Budilovsky) Kurtin. He married Donna Hauan on May 31, 1958 and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2005. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus, lifetime V.F.W. member and was involved for many years with the Effingham Crime Stoppers organization. He also served with the United States Navy from 1951 to 1957.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Barbara (husband, Steven) Ward of Louisville, Ohio and two grandsons, Steven and Christopher Fregeau.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings, Emil, Mary, Mildred, Frank, Louis, Tillie, Charles, Anna, and his identical twin brother, Richard.
