Robert G. Hout's Obituary
Robert G. Hout, 84 of Effingham, formerly of Newton, passed away at 2:52 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday evening, June 6, 2014 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Robert was born February 3, 1930 in Edgewood, the son of Donah and Lola (Pemberton) Hout. He married Marilyn A. Trapp on October 9, 1954 and she preceded him in death in 2012. Robert served with the United States Marines during the Korean War and was a former principal and coach at Newton Community High School. Robert was also involved as a member of the American Legion, Lions Club, Order of Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and the Newton Band Boosters.
Robert is survived by his son, David Hout of Springfield, MO; daughter, Denise Hout of Mobile, AL; four sisters, Marvell Billington of Fairfield, Marilyn Raegan of Albuquerque, NM, Patsy Dyer of Effingham and Barbara King of Colorado Springs, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marilyn.
