Robert Gene Hill, 75 of Effingham, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser, Illinois.

Robert was born June 25, 1939 in West Frankfort, the son of Richard R. Hill, Sr. and Anna B. (Barauskaus). He enjoyed spending his time at A.R.C. in Effingham and also riding his three wheeled bike. Due to his love of running, Robert won several awards while participating in the Special Olympics. Robert loved pudding, was crazy about flags and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.


Robert is survived by his brother, Donald L. Hill of Effingham along with his best beloved friend, Tammie. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Richard and also by his grandparents.
