Robert Huey, 93 of Effingham, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital.

In accordance with his wishes, his body will be cremated. A private family service will be held with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be given to the St. John's Lutheran Church Food Pantry or to the donor's choice. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.

Bob was born in Walsh, Illinois, the son of Frank and Pertie Huey. He married Vera Welp on January 31, 1953 at the Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill, Illinois. Bob spent most of his early life in the printing profession starting at the entry level and rising to the presidency of World Color. Bob served on bank boards, ran several business enterprises, and farmed. His passion later turned to gardening and staying involved with his family.

Bob is survived by sons, Robert" Bob Jr" (Dixie) of Effingham and Randy of St. Louis; daughter, Cathy (Jerry) Bloemer of Effingham; grandchildren, Zac (Laura) Bloemer, Wade (Brittany) Bloemer, Logan Bloemer, Dakota Huey, Dylan(Rachel) Huey, Robert Huey and Sydney (Joe) Kuensting, seven great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Doris Russell.

Those preceding him in death were his parent; sisters, Marion Cairns, Fern Huey, Dale McKinley, and brother, Roger.
