Rita M. Stumborg, 91 of Effingham, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Effingham Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

A private funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Green Creek.

Rita was born January 30, 1929 in Effingham, the daughter of William F. and Christine (Nieman) Meyer. She married Norbert J. Stumborg and he preceded her in death in 2015. Rita was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women.

Rita is survived by her son, David (Robin) Stumborg of Clay City; sisters, Alice (Jim) Rhodes of Effingham and Margaret Loudenbach of Indianapolis, IN.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Magdalen Meyer and Anna Gill and brothers, Aloys, Richard and George Meyer.
