Obituary

Rita G. Siemer, 66 of Teutopolis, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at her daughter's home in St. Peter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 29, 2012 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to St. Michael's (Sigel) School Tuition Assistance, St. Peter Lutheran Tuition Assistance or donor's choice.

Rita was born October 11, 1946, the daughter of Clyde E. Burrus II and wife, Lois M. Nees. She married John L. Siemer on June 23, 1973 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sigel and he survives. Rita was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel. She also served in the St. Michael's Council of Catholic Women, was a Girl Scout leader and a summer softball coach for several years. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, reading and rooting for the Chicago Cubs. She was employed by Walmart for 23 years; starting out as floor associate and worked her way up to co-manager.

Rita is survived by her husband, John; two sons, John C. of Wixom, MI and Tim (Jen) of Joplin, MO; two daughters, Amy (Leland) Reiss of St. Peter and Jennifer Siemer of Teutopolis; two brothers, Clyde (Tricia) Burrus III of Charleston and Steve (Billie) Burrus of Mason, OH; one sister, Susie (Darrell) Nees of Charleston; brother-in-law, Jim (Kim) Siemer of Effingham; two sisters-in-law, Jean (Jim) Dodson of Valley Park, MO and Mary Ellen Pagliughi of Effingham; grandson, Braden Christopher and granddaughter, Macy Lynn.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents.
