Richard M. "Dick" Burson, 75 of Effingham, passed away at 2:55 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Mattoon Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities.

Dick was born May 28, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Alex and Genevieve (Sutter) Burson. He married Linda J. Koestler on September 24, 1958 and she survives. Dick retired after over 40 years in the printing industry and had previously served with the United States Air Force. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham, a past member of the Effingham Country Club and enjoyed playing golf at Cardinal Golf Course.

Dick is survived by his wife, Linda of Effingham; two sons, Timothy of Asheville, NC and Rick (Lisa) of Panama City, FL; two daughters, Yvonne Roberts of Pesotum and Laura (Scott) Kessler of Watson; brother, James (Kathy) of Omaha, NE; sister, Linda Kay (Deborah) Creel of Panama City, FL; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
