Pauline was born December 31, 1925 in Sigel, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Hoene) Schumacher. She married Raymond H. Brummer on October 2, 1946 and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2010, after over 63 years of marriage. Pauline was a member of St. Isidore Parish, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bishop Creek; St. Isidore Council of Catholic Women, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, DeColores and a member of the church choir. She was a farm wife who loved working side by side with her husband. Pauline loved the simple things of life like swinging, singing, and praising the Lord. She was full of practical jokes and loved life as much as she did her family. Watching hummingbirds, following the St. Louis Cardinals, playing cards, collecting angels, and celebrating life with her grandchildren were things that touched her heart the most. For Pauline, there was no place like home.
She is survived by her sons, Mike (wife, Donna Schoenekase), Kenny (wife, Judy Buhnerkempe) and Mark (wife, Linda Waldhoff), all of Dieterich; daughters, Sister Renita Brummer, OSF of Springfield, Betty (husband, Bob) Zumbahlen and Maria (husband, Sam) Probst, both of Sigel, and Theresa (husband, Larry) Funneman of Teutopolis; sister, Helen Martin of Effingham; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Schumacher of Sigel, Lucille Schumacher of Tulsa, OK and Agnes Brummer of Dieterich; 34 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren. Pauline's family would like to say a special thank you to her exceptional caregivers, Sue Vogt and Penny Beckman.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Renita; grandchildren, Dana Brummer and Michael Robert Zumbahlen; brothers, Vince, Norbert, Lenard and Bud Schumacher; sisters, Bertha Schutte and Rita Thompson.
