Patricia A Hayes, 88, of Effingham died at 12:26 AM Tuesday, December 2, 2020 at Evergreen Nursing Home, Effingham.

A private funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Sacred Heart Church.

Ms. Hayes was born April 30, 1932 in Pana, Ill, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Doyelle) Pastor. Patricia was a retailer who owned and operated Patty's Tot N Teen Shop in downtown Effingham from 1964 to 1987. She introduced higher end lines of clothing in the Effingham area for children. Patricia's husband, Ivan, also operated Ellman's Department Store from 1949 to 1983 and owned Ivan's Family Shoe Store.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Effingham Associated Retailers and Greater Effingham Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Her husband Ivan preceded her in death, December 29, 2008.

Patricia is survived by her sons, Drew (wife, Dena) Hayes of Ormond Beach, FL, Mike (wife, Denise) Hayes of Grayslake, Brent (wife, Susie) Hayes of Effingham, Rick (wife, Janet) Hayes of Foxfield, Colo., Chris Hayes of Land O Lakes, FL; and daughter Patty (husband, Dennis) Hayes of Effingham. She and Ivan had 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Georgette and Dolores; and granddaughter, Alexia.
