Patricia Ann "Pat" Braun, 86 of Effingham, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be given to Sacred Heart School.

Pat was born April 26, 1937 in Effingham, the daughter of Victor and Mary (Deters) Koester. She married Larry Braun on May 11, 1963; recently celebrating 60 years together. Pat graduated from St. John's School of Nursing and served as a nurse in the United States Air Force. After moving back to Effingham, Pat used her nursing skills at St. Anthony's Hospital and Marshall Clinic. Pat was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, as they meant the world to her.

Pat is survived by her husband, Larry of Effingham; children, Lisa (Bill) Hoelscher of Effingham, Maria (Jeff) Fenton of Bradley, Andrea (Kelvin) Owens of Springfield, and Scott (Sheila) Braun of Effingham; grandchildren, Megan (Alex) Schimmelpfenning, Lauren (Will) Draeger, Ryan (Marie) Hoelscher, Michael (Melissa) Fenton, Alex Fenton, Kayla (Matt) Warner, Seth Owens, Nate Braun, Mara Braun, and Owen Braun; great-grandchildren, Finley Schimmelpfenning, Lincoln Schimmelpfenning, Cooper Schimmelpfenning, Olivia Draeger, Amelia Fenton, and Avery Fenton.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents.
