Pat Armstrong, 78 of Effingham, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2023 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Following visitation, friends and family are welcome to share stories and memories of Pat. Memorial donations may be given to local Fear Nothing, P.O Box 453, Effingham, IL 62401.

Pat was born August 27, 1945 in Gamaliel, Kentucky, the daughter of Bethel and Pauline (Halsell) Proffitt.

Pat enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and relaxing on the beach while enjoying the ocean scenery.  She was a beautician for over 55 years and 42 years in Effingham and had many loyal clients that became great friends.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Christina (Eric) Bergbower of Newton; son, Chad (Melissa) Armstrong of Watson; sister-in-law, Darlene Proffitt of Sullivan; niece, Stacy Best; nephew, Jason Proffitt;  grandchildren, Shauna, Justin (Rachel), Cody, and Brittney Bergbower and Aly, Taylor, Kristen, and Natalie Armstrong.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Doris Proffitt; brothers, Marshel Proffitt and Marvin (Patsy Jean) Proffitt.
