Normalie Strickland, 81 of Effingham, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Willowbrook in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be given to the donor's choice.

Normalie was born January 12, 1938 in Effingham, the daughter of Leo J. and Josephine (Lidy) Richards. She married Joseph Strickland and he preceded her in death in 2014. Normalie was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and was a librarian for the Helen Matthes Library in Effingham for many years.

She is survived by her three sisters, Victoria (Len) Kispert-Quirk of West Chicago, Debora Richards of Effingham and Tama (Bill) Price of Watson; brother, James (Lori) Richards of Divernon.

Normalie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three infant brothers, Edgar, David and Tommy.
