Norma M. Schalk, 95 of Teutopolis, passed away at 10:50 AM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 30, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to the time of mass,  Friday morning at the church, in the St. Clare Hall. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.

Norma was born July 25, 1927 in Effingham, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Nacke) Bersig. She married James McEnroe and he preceded her in death. Norma then married Edward A. Schalk on February 1, 1975 and he preceded her in death in 2005. Norma was a member of St. Francis Church in Teutopolis, a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a nurse at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital for many years.

Norma is survived by her grandchildren, Colt Capperune of Ashland City, TN and Heather Capperune of Peoria; two great-grandchildren; one nephew, Joe (Mary Etta) Bersig and six nieces.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Mischelle Kay Capperune; brothers, Joseph H. and Daniel Bersig and one nephew.
