Norma H. (Kaufman) Hoene, 88, of Effingham died at 11:07 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Sigel. Visitation will from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. wake service Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Michael Grade School or to the donor's choice. Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Hoene was born Aug. 5, 1922, the daughter of Anthony and Sophie (Schwerdt) Kaufman. She married Albert A. Hoene on Oct. 6, 1945. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1997. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Sigel.

She is survived by Gene (wife, Ann) of Taylorsville, Ky., Gerald (wife, Mary Beth) of Stewardson, Donald (wife, Becky) of Sigel, Judy Thoele (friend, Woodie Kissiar) of Effingham, Diane Lake (fiance, Paul Vernon) of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Mike (friend, Deb Baker) of Teutopolis, Brenda (husband, Arnie) of Effingham, Roger (wife, Diane) of Sigel; 21 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-stepgrandchildren; sister, Agnes Walk of Effingham; and brother, Albert (wife, Edith) of Effingham.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Adolph "Bud," Clifford and James; and sister, Sister Marie Therese, OSF.
