Morgan Jeanne Shuemaker, 26 of Effingham, lost her battle to Leukemia at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at 12:37PM on Thursday, July 31, 2014.

Graveside services will be at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Oakridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to a memorial account in care of the Altamont Bank & Trust. Memorials may also be given at the funeral home during visitation time.

Morgan was born on September 9, 1987 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and grew up in Effingham, Illinois. She was such a vibrant, strong, loving, compassionate person. Her passion for life and bright smile lit up any room she was in. Her contagious laugh and outgoing personality was known by all.

Morgan loved her family more than anything and even her dearest friends, she considered to be family. Her daughter Paytn and husband Dustin were her life.

Although Morgan was diagnosed with Leukemia in September of last year, and fought so hard, she would not want to be remembered that way. She was extremely strong and was determined to win the battle.

She is survived by her husband, Dustin Shuemaker and five year old daughter, Paytn; her siblings, Justin Lee(Brother) of Effingham, Amanda Levy(Sister) & Jason Levy(Brother-in-Law) of Vermont, Aaron White(Brother) & Maranda Hovis(Sister-in-Law) of Effingham, Dawn Kuhlman(Sister) of Beecher City, Raymond White(Brother) of St. Elmo, Amy Ridgeway(Sister-in-Law) & Mannie Ridgeway(Brother-in-Law) of Du Quoin, Joshua Fuesting(Brother-in-Law) & Cindy Fuesting(Sister-in-Law) of Du Quoin; grandparents, Robert & Anne Hundman of Seattle, Washington, Patricia Lee of Mt. Morgan was preceded in death by her mother, Cathy L. White; her father, Ricky W. Lee, and her cousin, Nathaniel Hammer.
