Michelle L. Thoele, 52 of Altamont, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2020 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to time of service, Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to the donor's choice.

Michelle was born May 20, 1968 din Effingham, the daughter of James R. "Red" and Ethel Marie (Mulvaney) Hites. She married Emmett Thoele on November 4, 2006. Michelle worked as a group home manager for ARC/Community Support System for nearly 30 years.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Emmett of Altamont; sisters, Diane (Jerry) Thoele of Effingham, Irene (Lyle) Ingram of Effingham and Brenda (Paul) Gouchenouer of Shumway; brothers, Jim Hites and Randy Hites, both of Effingham and Keith (friend, Sarah) Hites of Hutsonville; many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews.

Michelle was preceded in death by her parents; niece, Jamie Schmohe: sisters-in-law, Sandy Hites and Mary Lou Hites; brother-in-law, Robert Simpson.
