Michael McDaniel passed away on Sunday September 26, 2021, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham.  Mike was born to Myrl L. and Marie (Garrett) McDaniel on March 4, 1951 in Effingham, IL.

Mike served in the U.S. Army in 1971 and was honorably discharged in 1974.  He worked for the Comfort Suites in Effingham for over 20 years until the time of his death.

Mike was an avid Cardinals and sports fan.  He loved hearing about his great nephew's sports endeavors after their games.  If you knew Mike, you would know him as sports aficionado and a great storyteller.

Mike is survived by his brother, Robert McDaniel of Effingham; nephews Corey (Heather) McDaniel of Effingham, Scott McDaniel: great nephews, Brady and Ian McDaniel of Effingham; cousin, Douglas (Sandy) Heiden of Shumway; and various other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard McDaniel and nephew Chris McDaniel.

Due to COVID, funeral arrangements are pending at this time.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family to assist with final expenses.
