Michael A. Hoffman, 78, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022 at his home in Watson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:30 p.m. rosary.

Michael was born February 14, 1944 in Effingham, the son of Theodore B. and Helen L. (Apke) Hoffman. He married Julie A. Loftus on August 28, 1965. Together they owned Hofnet Communications, Canada North Lodge, and Hoffman Electric Parts Service Company (HEPSCO). He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and flowers.

Michael is survived by his wife, Julie of Watson; son, Patrick of El Dorado Hills, CA; daughter, Catherine (Rusty) Bittle of Dumfries, VA; son, Timothy (Cindy) of Minnetonka, MN; thirteen grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and five step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Steven Hoffman of Lakeland, FL and Mark (Bonnie) Hoffman of Cumming, GA; sisters, Karla Hendren of Decatur and Cindy L. Hoffman of Lakeland, FL.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ken, and sister, Nancy.
