Michael L. Burford's Obituary
Michael L. Burford, 53 of Effingham, passed away at 7:54 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to service time, Saturday morning at the church. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family with arrangements.
Michael was born November 15, 1959 in Effingham, the son of Lawrence C. and Marion L. (Hoedebecke) Burford. Michael graduated from Teutopolis High School in 1978 and then attended Lakeland College in Mattoon. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham and Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #2874.
Michael is survived by his mother, Marion Burford of Effingham; sister, Pat Hartke of Vandalia; nephew, Caleb Hartke of Dieterich and niece, Courtney (Kristen) Vosmaer of Milwaukee, WI; great-nephew and great-niece Hugo and Stella Vosmaer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence; brother-in-law, Mel Hartke; grandparents, Louis & Lucile Hoedecke and Clarence & Lorraine Burford.
