Mathilda A. Rieman's Obituary
Mathilda A. Rieman, 97 of Effingham, passed away at 7:04 a.m., Monday, March 11, 2013 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service. Memorials may be made to donor's choice. www.bauerfh.com
Mathilda was born on May 12, 1915 in Green Creek, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Swingler) Niebrugge . She married John J. Rieman on May 18, 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1965. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham.
Mathilda is survived by three sons, Robert A. (Linda) of Teutopolis, Donald H. (Marjorie) of Effingham and Steven J. (Barbara) of Sigel; daughter, Linda (Terry) Campbell of Paris and sister, Pauline Hoene of Effingham; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Mathilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, James; daughter, Marilyn; two brothers, Adolph Niebrugge and Andrew Niebrugge; two sisters, Mildred Lee and Mary Frances.
