Mason E. Young, 16, of Effingham, died at 9:26 a.m., July 4, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL., as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on June 27, 2012 in Effingham County.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2012 at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham. Burial will be in Oskaloosa Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. untill service time, Monday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial donations be made to the family to help assist with expenses. He was born September 8, 1995 in Effingham, IL., the son of Wade Young and Jamie Lynn (Erwin) Young. Mason was employed at Taco Rail in Effingham. He enjoyed basketball, video games, movies and hanging out with his friends. Mason was also a organ donor.

Mason is survived by his father Wade Young of Flora; mother Jamie (husband Terry) Plowman of Effingham; paternal grandmother, Judy Young of Flora; maternal grandmother, Pam Erwin (fiance' Joe Borries) of Effingham; stepbrothers and stepsisters: Jessica, Miranda, Santana and Tyler; aunts, Lisa (husband Rick) Miller of Edgewood, Jennifer Erwin of Mattoon, and Jodi Erwin (fiance' Martin Durbin) of Altamont; uncle, Jeff (wife Carrie) Young of Florida; niece, Jenee'; cousins, Lindsey, Jake, Danyell, Kaleb and Madison. And his dog Artemis.

He was preceded in death by his brother Chance Young; paternal grandfather, Donald Young and his maternal grandfather, Dan Erwin.
