Mary Ann (Funneman) Zerrusen, 83 of Teutopolis, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. A public memorial service celebrating Mary Ann's life will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to Franciscan Vocation Center c/o St. Francis of Assisi, 203 East Main Street, Teutopolis, IL 62467 or donor's choice. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis.
Mary Ann was born March 31, 1937 to Sylvester and Florence (Schuette) Funneman in Effingham County Illinois into a family of 10 children. She was married to Gerald Zerrusen September 6, 1958. Mary Ann treasured spending time with her family, enjoyed making quilts, and fond of time with her many friends. Grandma Mary or just MA, had the gift of knowing who needed a hug, a few words of encouragement, and rooted for the underdog. Not only was she the loving and fearless matriarch of her large family, she will be fondly remembered by many in the Teutopolis Community. She was a grandmother to all.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years Gerald "Chippy" of Teutopolis and children Ron "Reggie" (Barb) Zerrusen; Kathleen (Dennis) Blievernicht; Dave (Kris) Zerrusen; Donna (Pat) Niemerg; Gene Zerrusen; Bob (Gina) Zerrusen; Sam (Beth) Zerrusen all of Teutopolis and Jay (Elsa) Zerrusen of New Canaan, CT.Grandma Mary is survived by her 26 Grandchildren – Jill Zerrusen, Leah Zerrusen, Sara (Mitch) Althoff, Lara (fiancé Trey Dasenbrock) Zerrusen; Ana (Mike) Meyer; Elise (Dane) Crosson; Bo Blievernicht. Darren (Brooke) Zerrusen, Tony (Kendra) Zerrusen, Emma Zerrusen and Margret Zerrusen, Garrett (fiancé Mandy Quick) Niemerg, Collin Niemerg, Gabrielle Zerrusen, Christopher (Meagan) Zerrusen, Clay (Chelsea) Zerrusen, Connor Zerrusen, Isabelle Zerrusen. Trent Zerrusen, Kyle Zerrusen, Tyson Zerrusen, Kendal Zerrusen, Justine Zerrusen, Jaclyn Zerrusen, Ariana Corrente, Jenna Zerrusen.Great-grandma 'Rusen or Great-gramma Chippy will be missed by 13 Great-grandchildren – Eileen Althoff, Claire Althoff, Addison Meyer, Kason Meyer, Emmy Meyer, Amelia Zerrusen, Edison Zerrusen, James Zerrusen, Paige Zerrusen, Caroline Zerrusen, Sylvie Zerrusen, Shepard Zerrusen, Jack Zerrusen and another on the way who only got to hear her joyous, boisterous laugh. Also surviving are her brother Bill (Shirley) Funneman and sisters-in-law Loretta (Babe) Funneman and Bette Funneman.
Preceding Mary Ann in death were her parents, brothers and sister, Robert Schuette, Norbert Funneman, Ralph Funneman, Jim Funneman, twin Carol Ann Ruholl, Tom Funneman, Don Funneman, and Steve Funneman.
