Mary Pike, 79 of Effingham, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with a 6:30 p.m. parish prayer service. Mary was born October 6, 1938 in Effingham, the daughter of Charles and Ann (Weber) Thoele. She married Arthur "Art" Pike on January 17, 1959 and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham for many years.

Mary is survived by her husband, Art of Effingham; son, Doug (Khwan) of Destin, FL and Doug's children, Andy (Julia) and Carrie (Lee); son, Alan of Charleston; son, Todd (Cindy) of Effingham and their daughter, Rachael (Damian); Matt (Erica) of Mahomet and their children, Juliana and Hudson. Mary is also survived by her sister, Doris Niemeyer of Teutopolis, as well as her three great-grandchildren, Elias and Oliver, sons of Carrie and Lee, and Parker, son of Rachael and Damian.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carl Thoele and sister, Carleen Wente.
