Marilyn A. Hout, 79, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at her home in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shumway with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Memorial Hospital. www.bauerfh.com
Marilyn was born September 11, 1932 in Effingham, the daughter of Anthony "Sam" and Adeline (Zehner) Trapp Stuckey. She married Robert G. "Bob" Hout on October 9, 1954 and he survives.
Marilyn graduated from Effingham High School and from St. John's School of Nursing. She was employed at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital for over forty years and served as director of nursing services for over fifteen years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shumway. Marilyn enjoyed gardening; working with her flowers and was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by her husband, Bob, of Shumway; son, David (special friend, Joyce) of Springfield, MO and daughter, Denise Hout of Mobile, AL. She is also survived by special friends, George and Anna Handley.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Jeanette Hardiek.
