Marie M. Martin's Obituary
Marie M. Martin, 92 of Teutopolis, passed away at 2:55 a.m., Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Brookstone Suites in Effingham.
A funeral mass will be held at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lillyville. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to funeral mass, Wednesday afternoon at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Hospice Care. Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis is assisting the family with arrangements. www.bauerfh.com
Marie was born May 24, 1922, the daughter of Joseph and Carrie (Swingler) Mayhaus. She married Lucius T. Martin on October 10, 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1967. After graduating with a bachelor's degree from Cornell University, Marie worked for the State of Connecticut's Long Lane School in Middletown. She retired after over 30 years of employment. Marie was also a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis.
Marie is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lucius; brothers, Joseph, Clarence and Mathias; sister, Thoenilla Huber and infant sister, Clara.
