Margaret Voss of Effingham, formerly of Centralia, died at the age of 85 on May 9, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice or to Margaret's family.

Margaret was born June 12, 1927 in Edwardsville, the daughter of Gladys Maxwell. She grew up in Flora with her grandparents and in February of 1947, she married Raymond Yoho; five children were born in this marriage. In 1971, she married Leo Voss.

Margaret was a nurse (LPN) for forty years. She retired from Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham on August 1, 2008 at the age of 81. Margaret was a member of Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church in Effingham.

Margaret is survived by three daughters, Mary (Louis) Buennemeyer of Effingham, Nancy (Danny) Lunnemann, of Pinckneyville and Donna (Joe) Wagner of Teutopolis; grandchildren, Jim (Ellie) Buennemeyer, Tom (Vanessa) Rehkemper, both of Effingham, Adam (Morgan) Wagner of Effingham and Brett Wagner of Teutopolis, Mike (Nikki) Rehkemper of Breese, Steven (Shelly) Rehkemper of Damiansville; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew and Justin Buennemeyer, Aspen Rehkemper, all of Effingham, Devin, Deandra and Delaney Rehkemper of Breese and Maelee Stephens (fiancé, James Phillips) of Altamont; half-brother, Frank (Lois) Beck of Odon, IN; sister-in-law, Martha Beck of Farmer City.

Margaret was preceded in death by her mother; infant son, Howard LeRoy and infant daughter, Alta Maxine; husband; grandparents and great-grandson, Brady Joseph Rehkemper.
