Margaret R. "Marge" Rumford, 85, passed away Friday morning, May 30, 2014 at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.

A memorial celebration of Marge's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside at a later date. Marge was born December 1, 1928, the daughter of Elmer and Ethel (Schaffer) Rumford. She was a former principal and elementary school teacher.

Marge is survived by her nieces and nephews, Joseph R. and Sharon (Harongody) Hartmann of Naperville, IL, Gregory W. Spalding of St. Charles, IL, Mark C. and Patricia (Pruemer) Hartmann of Arlington Heights, IL, Mary (Hartmann) Wikoff of Decatur, IL, Elaine (Schumaker) Hartmann of Palos Park, IL, David P. and Dee (Heaton) Hartmann of Chicago, IL, Chris (Rogers) and Gill Jones of Littleton, CO, Connie (Rogers) and Bill Valois of Parker, CO. Also surviving her are multiple loving great nieces and nephews.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Glenna Rumford Hartmann Pearson of Ef?ngham, IL, and Lois Rumford Rogers of California; brothers-in-laws Dr. Richard A. Hartmann and Carl E. Pearson, both of Ef?ngham, IL, and Bill Rodgers of Los Angeles, CA; niece Laura Hartmann Spalding of Naperville, IL; nephews Thomas A. Hartmann of Palos Park, IL, and Richard D. Wikoff of Decatur, IL.
