Margaret Niemann, 87 of Effingham, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Lavender Ridge Memory Care in Effingham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Green Creek, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to time of service, Thursday morning at the church. Memorial donations may be given to School Sisters of Notre Dame or to St. Anthony Memorial Hospital Hospice Program.
Margaret was born August 16, 1930, the daughter of Joseph and Cecelia (Bueker) Niemann. Her entire career she was employed by the State of Illinois at the Vocational Rehab Office in Decatur.
Margaet is survived by her sisters, Sarah Parks, Sister Josephine Niemann S.S.N.D. and Carolyn Braun and sister-in-law, Bernadette Niemann. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Sister Irene Niemann S.S.N.D., Jeanette Ferrick, John Niemann, Mary Conlin and Barbara Reedy.
