Margaret M. Lindsay, 96, formerly of Effingham, passed away at 11:40 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2012 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday morning at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to donor's choice. www.bauerfh.com
Margaret was born May 3, 1916 in Effingham, the daughter of Anthony and Clara (Having) Koester. She married Harry J. Lindsay and he preceded her in death in 1961. Margaret was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. She was a homemaker and also helped in the office at Lindsay TV Sales and Service in Effingham.
Margaret is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Betty) of Shorewood and Larry of Chicago; two brothers, Jim (Janet) Koester of Teutopolis and Don Koester of Effingham; sister, Florence (Art) Michels of Wheeler; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; four brothers, Ralph, Ray, Norbert and Walt Koester; one sister, Sidonna Lau.
