Margaret V. Kenter's Obituary
Margaret V. Kenter, 89, of Teutopolis, died at 5:28 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2011 at her daughter's home in Indianapolis.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service, Sunday evening at the church. Memorials may be made to Donor's Choice.
Margaret was born July 16, 1921 in Effingham, the daughter of Herman and Bridgot (Buehnerkemper) Zehner. She married Lt. Bob Francis on September 21, 1943. He was killed in France during WWII a year later. She later married James V. Kenter on October 19, 1963. Margaret was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Teutopolis, Effingham V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary and the Effingham American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, Jeff (Carla) of Teutopolis; daughter, Barbara Kelly of Indianapolis; four sisters, Sidona Frasier of Plainfield, IN, Norma Wernsing of Effingham, Mary Lou Engle of Danville, Bernice Maeir of Arcola; brother, Harold "Bud" Zehner; six grandchildren, Jenna, Jody, Justin and Jason Kenter, Kent Kelly and Kristie (Tom) Clark; three great grandchildren, Austin and Brandon Clark, Christopher Holt.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brother, John "Jack" Zehner and infant brother, Bobby.
